Certified Mold Testing with Limited Sampling
AccuSpect offers limited sampling, the most common mold testing done in the home inspection industry. Limited sampling can be done by air or by swab tests.
Swab tests
In this mold inspection, we take a physical swab or tape lift of visible mold-like substances to determine if it is actually mold, and if so, what type.Air samples
During this test, we take an air sample in a location away from the affected area to establish a baseline and then take samples from the affected area to determine if mold is present and in what quantity. We then try to determine if the level of mold spores would be considered normal or elevated at the time of the test.Note: Keep in mind that these tests do not tell us if the mold spores are dead or alive; they just confirm the absence or presence of mold at the time of the mold detection testing. However, mold spores can cause allergic reactions and can still be toxic whether the spores are dead or alive.
Once the sampling is completed, we send the samples via Overnight Priority Mail. Your results will usually be available 24 to 48 hours after testing. Our team has completed training and earned the Certified Mold and Indoor Air Assessor certification.
